Transformation Tuesday with Alexis Doss
A massive welcome to Alexis Doss who is here to share her transformation story. From an unexpected diagnosis to an amazing lifestyle change that we can all learn something from!
How old are you and please can you share your health and fitness journey to date?
I have been thin my whole life up until 21. I developed 2 eating disorders and then was diagnosed with PCOS in February in 2013 and struggled with my weight for a while. I started focusing on nutrition more, not just fitness and things changed. I started to learn to love myself and then things changed BIG time. I've lost about 40 lbs and now I'm in a place where I'm healthy and happy. So now I work to help others to do the same! I
What types of foods did you used to eat as a kid and young adult? What's changed since then?
I would eat your typical American diet, processed, packaged foods, then in college I thought lean cuisines were healthy. Now I focus on an 80/20 paleo diets, with some cheats to stay sane, even though I absolutely love eating paleo. I also feed my body with super foods every day because I know that's been a factor in healing my PCOS
Do you play any sports or what sports do you like watching?
I played volleyball for 13 years, and competitively in college! I love watching ice hockey and football!
What are your interests, passion and what makes you smile?
I truly enjoy my job. I love being able to help people learn to love themselves, discover how good their bodies are mean to feel and what makes me smile is when people truly learn that they are so special and really gain confidence that they didn't once have! My passion is health and fitness in the best way possible for each individual person
What was the catalyst that sparked your lifestyle change?
Finding out I was diagnosed with PCOS. I knew I didn't want to end up with diabetes and that I needed to start treating my body right, or I was going to go down a dark path
What are some of your dreams/goals you hope to achieve over the next 12 months?
I hope to increase the size of my team of amazing coaches that help people every single day. I want to help others realize their potential in every aspect of their lives, and I want to be able to work hard this year, so I can travel a TON in 2017!
What tips would you like to share with my readers about your transformation?
You have to give it TIME. And I'm talking like a year. These transformations don't happen in weeks, or even months. They are slow but your body takes time to heal itself from everything we've done to it over time. Just give it time and stay consistent!
Thank you SO much Alexis for sharing your story and giving people hope to heal.
