Transformation Tuesday with Sarah

Sarah's amazing transformation was sparked when she caught a photo of herself after having her second baby. Today she shares her journey with us.... TT-Sarah

 

 

How old are you and please can you share your health and fitness journey to date? I am 34 years old and started my journey shortly after having my second baby by ceasarean in July 2013. My friend innocently took the before photo and posted it on Facebook to say congratulations. I was horrified, although I knew my weight had soared I was blissfully unaware how big I really was until I saw this photo! I joined a gym and slimming group as soon as I was given the all clear from my doctor! I changed my entire lifestyle! My diet is cleaner and I'm so much more active now, I still have a way to go, but I've already gained so much!

What types of foods did you used to eat as a kid and young adult? What's changed since then? I used to eat fish and chips and huge cheese laden pizzas at least once a week each along with other takeaways! I am a cheese fiend and used to cover everything in piles of grated cheese, like pasta and white toast! I've now learnt the art of cooking with fresh ingredients from scratch and really enjoy it!

Do you play any sports or what sports do you like watching? I'm not a naturally sporty person but I have found a passion for running over the last year and love challenging my body to go further or faster each time!

What are your interests, passion and what makes you smile? My children and family are my passion and I hope that I have started this journey in time to be a great role model to them

What was the catalyst that sparked your lifestyle change? The unposed photo my friend innocently took

What are some of your dreams/goals you hope to achieve over the next 12 months? I'd like to run a 10km race in a time I can be proud of and continue to challenge myself

What tips would you like to share with my readers about your transformation? Just start!! And if you have a bad weekend or week or even just a day get back on it the next meal! Don't wipe out a whole day just because your plans changed and you ate out instead of a meal you planned to have! And where possible plan every meal, even cheat meals
